🚙 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe - Best in its Class

Hyundai Santa Fe Car Loan Australia.jpgIF THERE’S one vehicle that clearly stands out among the group of contenders in the 7 seater SUV category, it’s the Hyundai’s Santa Fe. The stylish Hyundai has sex appeal to interest surfers and adventure sports-junkies looking for an SUV not hindered by any ‘old codger’ stigma.

The 2.2-litre diesel is a willing and sensible companion in the Santa Fe. With the six-speed auto it accelerates smartly. It does a great job of shifting the sizeable wagon and makes light work of country cruising. Fuel use is good too, clocking in at 7.3 litres per 100km. Tow capacity is 2000kg for the auto, with the manual rated at 2500kg. The Santa Fe is comfortable around town and behaves well enough.

The Santa Fe’s Smart Cruise Control is a real asset. It’s simple to operate, even in medium-density traffic on arterial roads with traffic light-controlled intersections. It can be configured for shorter braking distances to discourage lane hoppers from cutting in front of you on freeways and it will also ensure you’re very unlikely to be involved in a nose-to-tail incident of your own making. That’s where the Autonomous Emergency Braking proves its worth.

Between the auto park system, the reversing camera, blind-spot detection and usefully large external mirrors, the Santa Fe is very easy to manoeuvre at low speeds.

Overall, the Santa Fe remains one of our favourite SUVs and still the best value for money in the competitive 7 seater SUV class.
