To celebrate St Patricks Day, a quick run down of the Top 3 Irish Cars of all-time;

1. Delorean DMC-12

Most famous for its role in Steven Spielberg's Back To The Future trilogy. Before the Delorean DMC-12 became one of Hollywoods most recognisable cars,  its biggest claim to fame is that it is one of the only three cars ever to be built in Ireland.

2. Shamrock

Like Delorean, the Shamrock was a commerical failure. 10 models were built in 1959 to appeal to the American convertible market, but the vehicle was underpowered with a 4 cylinder, 1.5 litre engine which didn't cut the mustard in the U.S.market.

3. TMC-Costin

The TMC-Costin was the last car produced in Ireland. Designed by former Lotus and Maserati designer, Frank Costin, the TMC-Costin had brief success on the British racing circuit, 1983-1987, before going the way of the Delorean and the Shamrock after producing only 39 models.
